My name is Agneta Kemmerer but everyone calls me Aggie which is a lot easier to pronounce for most people. I was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, the land of the midnight sun, Vikings, IKEA, and Swedish massage. I had no intension of leaving my beautiful country but in December of 1994 I met someone who made me change my mind. A year later I was married and living in the US with my American husband. After two years in Montana we decided to move to Thousand Oaks where my husband grew up, and after 13 years we are still enjoying our lives here.

For many years I had been working in administrative jobs but I had never really found anything that I was passionate about. One day I decided to quit my job and take some time off to figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. That was probably one of the best decisions I had ever made. A few months later I was enrolled at Massage Center in Thousand Oaks and ready to start my new career and I haven’t looked back since. The classes were intense with lots of hands on practice between the students along with a basic learning in anatomy and physiology, learning the muscles and bones in the body and the affects massage has on the different organ systems. It is amazing how the touch of a hand can have such incredible healing power.

Finding balance in your life can be hard in today’s busy lifestyle. In Sweden, health and fitness have always been an important part of most people’s lives and staying fit and balanced manages the stress and makes you focus. More and more individuals are incorporating regular therapeutic massages into their overall health maintenance routine to find that mind/body/spirit balance they have been seeking. For me it is something I can not live without and I hope I can influence people here to do the same.

What is most rewarding about being a massage therapist is the fact that I can help people feel better, make them relax and forget the hectic world outside for a while. Massage therapy also contributes to a reduced stress level and improves your mental and physical well-being. I take pride in my work and I always do my best to accommodate each client’s needs and make their experience unique.
